UNDERATED for LEGO Ideas: April 2016

It’s that time of the month again, and not a red streak in sight: It’s UNDERATED for LEGO Ideas, exclusively on SilentMode.tv, and I am your host.

Here at SilentMode.tv, a lot of work goes on behind the scenes that people won’t appreciate. It’s often the same with LEGO Ideas projects, whether they reach 10,000 supporters, 100 supporters or even ten. That’s another reason why showing your support, just by hitting a few buttons on the screen, is so important. If you disagree, consider how many buttons you hit the next time you use social media.

This month only two projects made the cut, and here they are.

If you are going to violate the “golden” price per part ratio as a project owner, why not put those extra parts to good use. This project uses just over 1,000 parts to create a stunning vignette of a kiosk, and nothing has been wasted. Check out that cobblestone ground, as well as the detail on the roof of the kiosk. As you can tell by looking at the sides, the kiosk is designed in the modular building format, so you can easily add it to your layout.

At the time of researching there are 177 supporters in favour of this project. Regardless of how many more there are when you read this, add your name to the list.

In the wake of the infamous Research Institute, and perhaps even before then, there has been a very small handful of projects related to healthcare. This project made this month’s list, not only because it looks good, but because it looks simple enough for kids to build. Although it’s an interior scene rather than an exterior, this reminds me of the Town sets of yesteryear (still superior to City, IMO).

I figure it’s about time at least one of these hospital or health-related projects got through. As for this one, it has some way to go, with only 54 supporters behind it. Perhaps it would fare better if the minifigures were all female? Prove us wrong!

There it is. Though this month’s feature is uncomfortably short, that’s really all there is for this month’s UNDERATED for LEGO Ideas. Hopefully we’ll have more to work with next month, so check us out then.
