Interesting parts

Exclusive to this set is the new mould 1x8x2 arches in Dark Orange. The 1x1x6 pillars in Dark Orange are uncommon and returning parts from as early as 2003, with appearances in 79013 Turtle Lair Attack and 79117 Turtle Lair Invasion from the TMNT and Ninja Turtles themes.

We’re also glad to see two more ice cream cones in Tan, and four Magenta 2×4 tiles, as well as the other parts.

Nurse Macaw

Okay, so this animal isn’t a nurse. It is, however, the same animal as the one in Macaw’s Fountain.

Rescue Base – living quarters

Those exclusive arches immediately get to work, helping to form the elevated base of the living quarters.

The first bits of furniture are installed: a pair of ghetto-style couches at the front, and a pair of single beds inside complete with a small table and lamp. All of these use a Magenta 2×4 tile, which means once again they’ve been relegated to seat duty.

We even have a kitchen area, outfitted with the latest compact cooker, and probably the smallest sink you’ve ever seen built out of LEGO.

Something I didn’t expect at all was this neat roof beam build, which also provides a home for a ceiling fan. That’s a decent idea, and completely necessary for the rescue base!

Getting ready to finish work on the roof, we crack open the bag of Bright Light Orange flower accessories and start to decorate. A couple more techniques for making use of those flowers are shown here.

That Dark Pink 8×16 studded tile comes into play as the roof, complete with a solar panel (where the 1×2 Trans Dark Blue tiles come in) to power the entire base. It would be entirely inappropriate for them to have a generator humming in the background, given they’re in the jungle, I think.

Leftovers

As expected, all tiny parts for your MOC enjoyment. Would you believe, I still have no use for those cherries, even if they’re in Red.
