SCREAMix (2024)
A series of monochrome vignettes, telling the story of an artist and his partner leaving Earth for a new life in the depths of space.
SCREAMix was the successor to SCREAM @ STEAM: a similar series of vignettes recreating the iconic music video for Scream by Michael and Janet Jackson.
Whereas Scream highlighted the Jacksons' frustration with the music industry, SCREAMix highlighted my frustration with the LEGO hobby: in particular with its “community”, represented as the F.O.L.D.
Along with a prologue and and ending, eight themes were chosen at random from a list of brainstormed ideas, to tell the story.
SCREAMix made its debut at the Great Western Brick Show in 2024: 12 years after SCREAM @ STEAM.
Did you know..?
A music playlist was also created to accompany SCREAMix, illustrating the story of F.O.L.D persecution, to the decision to leave Earth, and the one-way journey into space.
